bruising

I have bruises all over my body, big, small, all different colors...and in places that where I am not likely to cause them myself, including the bottoms of my feet, inside of my arms.  I have bumped into things that hurt like heck and I knew I would have a huge bruise, and nothing !

Does anyone know if this can be caused by the MS?

hugs, meg

How long has it been since one of your doctors has seen these bruises Meg?  It doesn't seem like a normal thing if they are appearing in random places and aren't preceeded by some kind of trauma.

Maybe your primary physician needs to run some bloodwork and see if it's possible to figure out what's going on.

Various medications can cause easy bruising. Not the MS kinds, but quite a few others. Have you discussed this with your primary doc?

Bruisng itself I do not think is MS. MS is a disease of the nerves. MS can cause you to bump into things so it can be secondary. Plus having MS does not exclude you from other medical problems. If It were me, I would see my PCP first in case it is something besides MS.

I know that bumping into things can be caused by ms, but I don't know about the bruising.  I have a lot of them too, but I just figure it's because I keep falling, and bumping into things.
