calcium spots on exrays

I just went to my Ortho surgeon to check on some pain I am having post op hip replacement 5 years.
The PA that I saw said to me..you are being good taking your calcium pills. I told her I don't take calcium. She didn't say much after that. There were white spots all over what looked to me to by my abdominal cavity. I have positive spinal fluid for ms but no brain leisons. Can these leisons be anywhere other than spinal cord and brain?

Thanks for letting me know. I am currently waiting for a phone call that I have been accepted as a patient. It should come in the middle of the week next week. I am praying that I can get in. So far they accept my insurance.
Thanks again for the heads up. Hope you are feeling well!

Thanks you guys for answering. I totally understood about the leisons being just in the central nervous system with ms but was so baffled at what I saw and what the pa saw on an old exray. I didn't see the new ones that they were comparing to as they were digital and out in the hallway. The calcification places were little round dots and they were where you describe between the hips in darker area on exray.

I am looking for someone who has been diagnosed at Mayo Clinic in AZ. I think I am going to go there for some help with all of this. Am weary of being told you do have ms and you don't..all the while I am loosing the use of my legs!

This is a great forum!
Hugs to all,
Cynde

Hi there,

Where you been?

Ok, I'm not so sure of what was seen or where, but you can have calcifications in the bladder.  Is this where they showed, possibly? On xrays it looks lower than your stomach area but between you hips.  Is that about where you saw them?

I have them, and see them each year on xray.  Weird looking huh? I've had kidney stones in the past, and get a KUB every year.

They never seem to comment on them much, just mention that they are there in the report.

Like Lu says, these are not the lesions we speak of.  Demyelinating lesions appear in your central nervous system which is made up of your brain and spinal cord.  That is where we see them.

Please update us, flower. I know you were here w/us before weren't you? Briefly?

Hope to see you back,
Shelly

The lesions for MS would be only in your CNS - not in your abdomen.  I would ask the doctor what it was you saw. It could be something as simple as imaging of fluid.

How are you these days?  Do I remember that you were going to stop looking for a dx for a while?  How's your mom - doing ok after the holidays, I hope. It's always tough for those left behind. Take care and stay in touch.

my heartfelt best,
Lulu
