copaxone side effect question

This isn't a big deal, but just wondering...can copaxone cause a bad taste in your mouth and make your food taste yucky? I'm not "concerned", but just curious. Maybe it will help me not to eat from nerves...lol

Steroids especially those used for breathing like advair can cause Thrush which causes your taste to be off. I had this happen when I was on advair and an antibiotic at the same time. I had to go to my PCP for some other medication for the thrush. I am not a Doctor but I have not heard of Copaxone doing this. Copaxone on rare occassions can cause the salivary gland under the tongue to swell. I had this but it did not effect my taste.

I've been on Copaxone for over two years and have never suffered from a bad taste in my mouth. Thank God. Love food too much for that. However, I also take IV solumedrol 1000mg a day for three days straight and that definately affects you taste for about a week. Tastse like you are eating old pennies. The only thing that helps for me is Jolly Ranchers. I hope this helps.

I was on IV solumedrol about 5 weeks ago..but I've really noticed it since starting the shots this week. That and nervous eating...

I've not heard anyone here mention this happening.with Copaxone but many have said the high dose steroids cause a metal taste.  Your mood tag says you are tired from prednisone.  If you're taking it now or just recently finished, maybe that's what causing your symptom.  Sure hope it's temporary.
