Hi Slj,
Adding on my welcome too!
I don't know a lot about the botox, and am still learning so much about the spasticity. I'm only dx'd since last year. But, we do have many here that have been dealing w/MS for years and have tendon probs.
I'm sure some will chime in soon, and having 3 years under your belt, I hope you can help us out too!
Again, welcome and stick around! We have an amazing group here!
be well,
SL
thank you for your info and welcoming me to the forum. im going to pt and hopefully its going to help. my last doc apt he wants to decrease the inflammation and told me that i could only walk if im wearing ortho boots. i go back in two weeks to see if he's happy with the amt of fluid that has decreased.
Hi there. We haven't met yet, and I welcome you too.
I'm so sorry about your awful pain. I really can't answer about the Botox, though I've heard it is good. However, that was about muscle pain. It sounds to me, if your tendons are shrinking, that that may be from spasticity. If that's the case, are you seeing a physical therapist? They can do wonders for MS patients. Maybe a PT could very slowly stretch out the tendons so you can walk without so much pain. We have a member here, TiredPT, who's a physical therapist and who may be able to give you some suggestions.
All good wishes,
ess
HI :)
I've heard that Botox injections can help with many problems with MS. I can't help you with personal experience, because I'm not DX so I'll bump your post so other people can have a chance to respond.
By the way...Welcome to the Forum!! This forum is filled with a lot of wonderful people. I hope you decide to stay awhile.
