does a nerve conduction test help diagnose mS?

I'm learning about this crazy disease. My aunt and I are both having similar symptoms. Her nerve study was pretty normal but did show lesions on her elbows....her doc did not order any other testing which is bothering me. She thinks he believes that since her nerve study didn't show alot that MS is not an option.

She is already diag with Trimeginal ( the facial nerve thing) and has many MS symptoms. Seems to me that he should be ordering  MRI and spinal tap. what's your experience?

Yes, it did sort of sound funny "lesions on elbows" and I think you're right when you stated that something was lost in translation.

I wish you the best of luck on your visit with your Neurologist on Wednesday.  Please let us know how that goes ok?

Hey perhaps it would help if you wrote down a timeline in regard to your symptoms prior to your visit?

There's an excellent example on the health forums:

Please keep in touch and again, welcome to the forums!

haha. well ladies that's what she told me the doctors said. I guess something is lost in translation b/c she said Lesions on her elbows..lordy lordy....

I'm headed to see a Neurologist on Weds. I hope that he's good and works with me. I'm experiencing heavy symptoms right now so that's a good time to go. Pray for wisdom and that I can relay all of the necessary info to help them understand my issues. I live in such a brain fog it's hard to think under pressure!

I'm guessing you mean that she is not conducting the nerve signal correctly through her elbows?  MS Lesions would not actually appear on her elbows - they are confined to the central nervous system  (brain and spinal cord).

I would love to hear more of your story and that of your aunt.  I hope we see you around more.

best,
Lulu
