emotions

Hello to all,

This is my first time writing in. I have had MS for 23 years. Attacks would come and go I would continue to function fairly normal. Since after living in several states due to transfers,am now back in home state of Iowa and MS is hitting me hard. I just turned 50 and we know what come with the later years. How has perimenopause affected others with the screwed up hormones, MS and the emotions. The weaker my legs become the more emotional I become. I have been on Copaxone for a month, I never used any thing before but alternative methods. I thought I was blessed not being so affected by MS, or so I thought, Looking for support and backup on this situation.

Thank you. I read your profile and I too with the help of a box try to stay my natural color red. That in itself is another challenge.

Welcome to the MS Forum.  I am sorry to hear about all the troubles you are currently having.  You have come to the right place, for care and compassion.  This group is fantastic.

When I was perimenopausal, I did not notice much change even though I have MS.  I am now in full menopause and still thankfully, do not have much trouble, except some obvious mood swings and the hot flashes.

I am also on Copaxone and started the third week in January.  I believe the stuff is actually working, since I have had some recent events in my life that would have normally put me in a full flair up.  Only slight problems have emerged, although my daily life is full of chronic pain, due to my legs.

I am sure that you will find all the support and back-up you need, right here on this Forum.  Many others will be by to greet you.  We are so glad that you are with us.  Lean on us girlfriend.  That's what we do best.

Best Wishes,
Heather
