81 deg, 81 symptoms

Ok, so it's not so severe as that, but I certainly am reacting to the warmer weather. Today my index and middle finger are numb and tingling. I have a burning tingling sensation running from those finger, all the way up my arm to my shoulder. My right foot is burning like it is on fire, and my whole right leg is burning, tingling and feels like the skin is tight. I cannot get the spasms that had started on the 12th of last month to stop ravishing my right arm. It is getting to the point that my elbow is feeling like it is ripped out of place. I am a very strong person, I have worked in the foundry my whole adult life, and strength is as much a part of my job as is my knowledge. It is really straining to have to ask for someone else to have to do something for me because I cannot budge it.

In the past I loved summer, but this year the warmth is breaking me down. I long to get into the nero's office in May. I'm hoping that at least some relief can be obtained. Sorry about the complaining, I just needed to spill it to someone.

I hope you are all having a nice weekend.

i doubt anyone on this forum would even remotely consider it "complaining". it is a wise move to vent some steam off and talk/write about it.

if is't any consolation i can relate to the heat issue and your nagging issues. where the heck do these symptoms come from? just when you want to make some plans, the wild ride starts up again.

here in the desert and already dreading the summer months. all we can do is prepare ourselves a bit and adapt somehow.

and by all means "freakin complain" sometimes to let the steam out

Hi John,

I'm in the balmy southern part of OH - we hit mid-80's and thankfully it is going to cool off next week for all of us and be more springlike!  I just WON'T turn on my A.C. in early April.  All the windows are open, though.

As for your symptoms and pain  - have you contacted your doc? I'm thinking that perhaps you would benefit from some treatment changes - maybe IV steroids to quiet the inflammation?  Just a total guess on my part, but you might consider it

Foundry work ?  It doesn't get much hotter than that anyplace.  I worked in a wheel mfg. foundry  as my first full-time adult job.  I was in the payroll dept. and had to walk through the shop to get to the second floor offices.  It was miserable and I always felt for the men working the floor.  I won't even comment on the filth and smell! :-)

You might want to get cooling garments to wear to work to help control your body temp.  Get creative with the neck bands - you could freeze them and bring them to work in your lunch box.

The MS Association (not NMSS) has free cooling equipment - you should consider getting something.  Perhaps the cooling vest would be ideal for your work environment?  You can get the information at this address -

http://www.msassociation.org/programs/cooling

Feel free to come through anytime with your need to vent.  Its something we all need .

be well, L

((hugs)) I hope you can find some relief soon!

My area just had it's first 2 days of warm weather, we hit the upper 70's yesterday and mid 80's today. It is not humid and there was a nice breeze, so other then being unusually grumpy, I think I did ok. But DH just put the kids to bed and said the upstairs is very stuffy and hot, so he closed the windows and we turned on the air. I have never dealt with heat well so I'm nervous about how I will do this summer.

I hope your area cools down a bit this weekend. ((hugs)) again!
