You sound a lot like me. A lot of times my heart rate will be around 52 or so - bradycardia. And then I'm also tachycardic as well - sometimes up to 148bpm doing absolutely nothing.
When I take Solumedrol (which I have been banned from now), my heart races the entire time - usually about 115bpm while I'm on it. And I end up losing about 5 lbs in about 5 days. Besides, it never makes me feel any better in the end, anyway. So, why bother taking it....
As you already know, young women have heart disease and problems, too. I am so glad you were wise and went to the ER. I'm kind of surprised they did the 5th IVSM infusion for you, but they are the experts and know more than I do.
I hope the IVSM helped and the a-fib stops for you and you feel better, and soon!
Laura
Just letting you all in on the ongoing saga
It appears that my heart did not like dose #4 for of the Solumedrol. I ended up being taken by ambulance to the ER at 4am for Afib. My heart rate is normally very low. I have a pacemaker to keep it above 60bpm. So, new symptom # 5... ish.... is crazy heartbeats and they seem to have little or nothing to do with the MS relapse.
Can'rt spell or see well..... so tired.... but finished course #5 in the ER ad will have to be seen by both cardio and neuro this week. BTW... I'm only 49.
nurse always says, expect it to get worse before it is better. Just didn't expect the extra circumstances
I'm sorry you are in pain. Just got dx'ed on Aug 14th, I just did my first round of the 5 day IV infusion, finished Monday and my symptoms got WORSE! Now I have tingling, numbness, a little bit of a burning sensation in my left arm and it feels heavy now :(. When I went to get diagnosed just my legs and feet were numb, now I have felt drugged up all week since finishing it.
I hope you get to feeling better and your pain goes away soon.
I am sorry you are hurting. I tell myself "Pain is time limited" meaning it will end over time. This helps me to stand it. I feel for you.
Alex
Well, I don't know who to call in your area, but I will pray that you find someone who can (and will!) help with this problem.
