possible MS symptoms ?

My mother was dx with MS about 4-5 years ago. New research says it can be hereditary. Anyways heres my symptoms and was wondering if anyone else experienced these before dx of MS. Severe fatigue, numbness in limbs , pressure in head on sides, mild vertigo, and I lose my balance sometimes. Im 20 years old , which is young but a lot of young people are being dx with it. I know my chances are higher bc my mother does in fact have it. Please no rude comments im looking for help and support.

I know the only way to know for sure is through MRI which I will be scheduling to see a Neuro next week. Thanks in advance

I'm glad you found us here - this is a very helpful and almost always friendly community . Everyone will go out of there way to help, especially people who are facing possible MS.

That said, let's get back to your question,  MS is not an inherited disease, but you can be genetically predisposed to it if someone in your family also have MS.  The symptoms you talk about could be neurological in nature, and have that neuro appointment is the best thing you can do.  Be proactive to get some answers.  Here's hoping the doctor can help  - just a note of caution don't go in telling the doctor you think you have MS, let the neuro figure it out.  Often if they hear you say it, they think you are just shopping for a diagnosis.  Let the doctor lead in the exam and here's hoping you get some answers.  best, Laura

ALSO, the pressure in my head feels as if someone is sitting on it. It lasts about 2mins and goes away. Comes back a few weeks later

Thank you , that is very reassuring. Im just so used to rude communities. Which is unfortunate.

My symptoms started approximately 2years ago before I had my two kids. It first started with severe migraines and fatigue. These were my mothers first signs, she didn't think anything of it for 7+ years. Her dx came after a fall from her imbalance. I saw a question posted on here about MS symptoms so I thought I'd ask for my own. Im not sure of any other symptoms to give you all.

It is unlikely that people will be rude to you here, just because it tends to be a nice community. Can you talk a bit more about the timeline of the symptoms you mention? That will help folks to give you better advice as to what to look for.

That said, it's truly impossible for anyone here to give an informed opinion of why might be going on for you, because we can't see you or talk to you face to face. BUT, I totally understand your concern and it's normal to want an answer sooner rather than later. I'm sorry that you're having symptoms and wish you the best.
