possible ms symptoms?

hi,

I've suffered from swollen limbs, now it's my knees, memory loss, frequent urination, forgetting where i am while i'm driving, some slight speech issues, some hearing loss in one ear, now the walking is getting bad because of the knee swelling. also my legs at night it's like the nerves or something won't keep them still.  fatigue, exhaustion. any clue? blood work's great, hearts great, pressure's good. np in that area. we tested for arthritis, lupus, etc.  doc wants me to go for an mri to chk for ms.

hi

what does that mean 3T?  the neuro i'm going to has the equipment there in their building.  i'm just hoping it's a stand up i'm soo clostrophobic can't spell lol.  last night my feet were ice cold out of blue for no reason, than right foot went numb.

today right leg calf is hurting and both legs feel off, heavy, tingly. figured i'll go back to gp to have him run a few more blood tests also to see if we can rule out anything else to avoid mri.

Well, an MRI won't hurt you - and it might give the doctors some clue.  I'd say go for it and see what happens.  Make sure you find the highest magnet strength possible - 3T if you can find it.

hi, i totally understand what you are saying and I did see a lyme specialist. who concluded after lab and examination and a lengthy talk that wasn't it.  they did all the western blot, etc. also.

sorry not trying to be difficult lol, i know your trying to help. yet i did all that stuff.

ELISA is one of the Lyme's tests.  There are Titers, Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), Western Blot and B. burgdorferi sensu stricto DNA Component analysis.

Titers are negative in early disease and positive in late disease.  DNA is poitve in early disease and may be negative in late disease.  You need to see a Lyme's specialist if there is any concern.  Lyme's, like MS is diagnosed by exclusion, not lab tests.

def. not elisa, just looked that up. my symptoms do not match that at all.  i'm like a puzzle. doc feels strongly ms. i have just put mri off because husband and i do not have insurance. he owns his own company (small) and we make too much for state insurance. so wanna nail what type of doc to go to rheumatologist or neurologist before we spend all that money! :)

also i have nodules on me. on my feet, and hands a few. i also am swollen in the joints on occassion yet more weakness in them and soreness than anything else. i also bump into things my balance is way off.

they did that and it came  back negative, went to specialist and i have no lyme disease either. no tic borne things either, they drew blood and tested.

Knee swelling, limb swelling and symmetric symptoms are not consistent with an MS presentation.   They are very common with Lyme's  borreliosis or one of the concurrent tick borne infections.  They would also create the neurologic symptoms and may produce lesions on an MRI.  Lyme's Titers and ELISA should be drawn as a roule out.

I know, that's why doc immediately thought ra. which i was hoping it would be. yet it isn't.  the memory loss stuff is absurd. i'll be driving and have no idea where i am. i tell stories at home at least 5 times over and have no clue i've done it. speech well lol sheesh i'll have in my head exactly what i want to say and than it comes out backwards?

this has been going on for about 3 years now yet seems like it's getting worse. the leg pain now bites.  i looked also and i found a few sites that state swelling of joints could be an ms thing.

the blurry vision is rough also when it hits. it always passes. thing is i have moments and gaps of time where i feel great. than i have periods where i feel horrible.  heat affects me bad also.

sorry rambling :)

I think an MRI is a good idea.  Swollen limbs are not a symptom of MS, but you have some other issues that do sound like MS.
