question..don't know the term..

I have been having this for quite awhile but it gets worse..the numbness, tingling, coldness, hurting in hands and feet.  Just this week I have been having cramps in both hands and feet and a bit more pain than usual.  It doesnt last long so not a biggie yet.  BUT, what is this called ?

I realized this morning that I have not been taking my cymbalta for over a week so I will pick it up today but just to show you how our minds work sometimes, I just got depressed..LOL..slap me !!

hugs, meg

Hi, i have had Reynauds forever, and i am familiar with the numbness, tingling, It started with my feet and they change colors and are always cold.

Years ago they said it was carpel tunnel in my hand....but I don't think so now.

A lot of the sympoms now are new..and just worse..

Did I mention I am having weird cramps all over, feet, hands, legs, back..

None of this feels as simple as Reynauds...nothing I cant live with for now...was jusr curious if there was a name or category..

Having trouble thinking today too..but I enjoyed your posts..

thanks, meg

I was thinking parasthesia too, though i think with Raynauds you also experience parasthesia sx when the blood is flowing again. For years i was getting ice cold, cramps, and pins and needles in my hands and feet and i was told it was poor circulation, its taken years for the colour changes to start to happen.

Around 3 years for my feet to turn purple and now they get to a bue-black colour and its only been in the last year that my hands go purple. I'm as white as white for most of the year so didnt think anything of my hands getting whiter in the colder months, not as dramatic as the purple or black lol!

My DD has cramps only in her hands and i've noted how corpse like her fingers get, mine do not get that white, though the white stands out more with my purple finger tips, lovely not!

Ooooh, a guessing game, and so far its Raynaud's, Parasthesia and i'll toss in Circulation.

Cheers......JJ

  JJ,
we must have posted or been writing at the same time  LOl

I also was thinking of Raynaud's at first but w/ the other sx i did not think it fit....like does her skin actually change colors??.
but then again....you never know...

Meg,
you can also look at that one too...

Raynaud's disease is more than simply having cold hands and cold feet, and it's not the same as frostbite. Signs and symptoms of Raynaud's depend on the frequency, duration and severity of the blood vessel spasms that underlie the disorder. Raynaud's disease symptoms include:

Cold fingers and toes
Sequence of color changes in your skin in response to cold or stress
Numb, prickly feeling or stinging pain upon warming or relief of stress
During an attack of Raynaud's, affected areas of your skin usually turn white at first. Then, the affected areas often turn blue, feel cold and numb, and your sensory perception is dulled. As circulation improves, the affected areas may turn red, throb, tingle or swell. The order of the changes of color isn't the same for all people, and not everyone experiences all three colors.
