sllowe not feeling well

Hi All,

Just wanted all of you to know that our Shelly (sllowe) is not feeling well.  She has been fighting with a bad cold for a few days now, but it has worsened, with fever and chest congestion.  Poor Shelly is not feeling well at all.

I wanted to let all of you know so that you could send her your good vibes and well wishes.  She promised me if she started feeling worse she would go to the dr.  She is taking antibiotics, but I do worry about her.

This is for you Shell,
I love you sweetie!!  Please take care and don't take any chances with this!!  I'll be praying and thinking of you every minute of the day!!!

Much Love, and loads of healing hugs,
doni

Yes, it appears Shell deveeloped influenza on top of her cold.  She has all the classic symptoms.  She has really been knocked low by this.  We're hoping that it doesn't bring on a relapse.

This is why we want all of you to get the inactivated flu shot.  If you have never had the real flu, then you don't realize how sick you get.  There have been 22 deaths in children in the US since the first of the year.

Here is the CDC data on it which they publish weekly.  Scroll down to the pretty, colorful graph and you can see that the flu is peaking just now.  It usually peaks right around the holiday season.

Lulu is right.  Hand washing is the best defense.  There are anti-viral meds which can shorten the flu and make the symptoms lighter, but ONLY if the med is started within 72 hours of the first symptoms.

Get better Shell.  We all miss you.

All,
This influenza is a serious strain and is taking a good 7-10 days to run the course of making you wish you were dead to realizing you weren't going to be that lucky and you have to stick it out until you feel better.   If you get sick, please contact your doctor immediately because the anti-viral stuff they can give you have to be given in the first couple days for it to be effective.

We can't tell you enough times - scrub your hands often during the day, it is your first line of defense against all these germs.

Especially wash your hands after being at the grocery and touching the cart handle (buggies to you Brits I believe). They are so contaminated with all kinds of germs.

Stay well,
Lulu

Wow you must really have a bad thing going on.  Tougher antibiotcs?  Maybe this is a virus after all, which antibiotcs won't touch.  Geeessshhhh, Shell, I hope you feel better soon.  Do you think this is the flu that it is going around?

Hoping you are back in the swing of things soon, girlfriend. We've missed you...

Heather

Hi All,

Wanted to give you an update on Shelly.  She went to the dr again on Mon and the dr put her on stronger antibiotics, but they are making her sick to her tummy.  She's still having a hard time taking deep breaths and having lots of trouble with her legs.

So gang, reach out to our precious Shelly, and send her your healing thoughts and prayers.

I love you my sweet, Shelly, and praying for you to get over this very soon.
