vision changes

hello,

(i am not diagnosed with anything, but have lots of symptoms that point to MS.)

i was wondering if anyone else has noticed changes in color vision that come and go, and are sometimes dependent on position.  for example, when i lay on my left side, the color vision in my right eye is diminished, and vice versa.

in the past year, i have had two negative VEPs, two normal OCTs, and normal 3t brain and spine MRIs.  but among other neurological symptoms, i have periodic flickering in my peripheral vision in my left eye, wavering vision in both eyes, burning, red eyes, and the above-mentioned color vision issues.  no one can seem to figure out what's going on with me.

anyway, i just wanted to see if any of this sounds familiar to anyone on this board.

blessings to you all and happy new year.

binx

My problem with the results of having ON is that in my left eye it is like looking through frosted glass.  There is pain behind the eye often as well.

thank you for the responses.

HVAC--yes, i have been to a neuro-ophthalmologist--2 in fact.  the one OCT showed that the optic nerve in my left eye was slightly thinner than my right, but it was in normal range.

when i first got really sick 2 years ago, i did have an episode of blurred vision which lasted a few days, and then my pupils started dilating and contracting spontaneously in ambient light which was incredibly disturbing.  my eyes have never been the same since.  i have periodic episodes of aching, burning, redness, flashes and flickering in my peripheral vision in my left eye, sharp stabbing pains, etc.  i can no longer wear my contact lenses.  i was tested for sjögrens, and just one of my eyes showed up as being only mildly dry, so dry eyes aren't really an issue.

MCBCON--what kind of symptoms do you have with ON?

thanks for the feedback.

best wishes,
binx

I am not trying to be flip.  But, my problem with ON has nothing to do with color changes.  If my problem had to do with color change though I would be curious as to what I would look like when I looked in the mirror.

If it was MS related I think it would show up on OCT or MRI as Optic Nerve damage? I have been told this damage shows up permanently on these tests. From what I understand of losing color saturation in MS it is usually in one eye and usually permanent along with ON. The colors especially red are permanently washed out to pink. MS problems usually are in one eye because of the inflammation or damage to the Optic Nerve. I assume you have been to a Neuro Opthamologist since you have had two OCTs.

I am not sure what is going on. I hope you find an answer.
