well, its not allergies..
not sure if you saw my post, but my SOB was not allergies..I have pneumonia and its worse than than it has been before.
But its wo hard to get someone to hear you. and I was not shy about it. Ten days I called my Drs before I finally call my old Dr who is only here 2 days a week and he said come right in, i will make room for you. There are no longer Drs like him....he has an offfice close to Stanford and he still does HOUSE CALLS. That is unheard of here at least.
The Drs now are part of socalled foundations and only work the regular business hours, no matter what. You have to go to the ER where they do nothing, unless you are dying and even at that you could die in the waitin room. You really have to take an ambulance to get right in..
Guess that was a rant !!! oh, well...

meg, you deserve a rant! maybe a few...this is the new reality of healthcare. it stinks. its probably inappropriate for me to go on my rant about the causes...so i will refrain.
fortunately the folks here are very good at the tips and tricks of navigating this new reality-they sure have the experience!
and it sounds like you are no slouch at it either! congrats on being assertive and getting what you need. you done good, as they say :)
but there's no way we can excuse the basic cause. like turning the titanic, it has too much momentum to change it rapidly. and the new laws are likely to institutionalize and beuracriticize (is the such a word? LOL) it even more. being assertive and finding a reliable advocate for you if you cant seems to me the best way to deal with it so far. i wish i had some better ideas to share...but i think you did a great job!

That is no fun at all. It stinks it took so long to get help. I hope you recover soon. It might take awhile.
