left hemiperisis due to high Blood pressure

My father suffered from left hemiperisis last month. At the time of stoke his blood pressure was 200/160. In their NCCT HEAD report following was mentioned " A hypodense lesion is noted in right basal ganglia, anterior limb of right internal capsule and right frontal periventricular region s/o infarct. There is mild effacement of frontal horn of right lateral ventricle."

My father was diagonised by giving following medicines
1. Ecosprine 20mg(Asprine)
2. Astrovastatin 20 mg
3. Clinaxon(Citicolin 500 mg+ piracetem 400 mg)
4. Eritel 40mg(Telimarastan)
5. rablet (rebeprazole)

My father was able to move and walk by the 2nd week of treatment. Now after one month we again did the CT scan and we found some new places with s/o infarcts. The report says "A small hypodense are is noted in right basal ganglia, anterior limb of right internal capsule, right frontal periventicular region and right fronto-partietal white matter s/o infarcts.       As compared to the previous CT scan There is decrease in the size of infarct in right basal ganglia, internal capsule and right frontal periventricular region with new appearance of infarct in right frontoparietal white matter."

The neurologist gave no importance to the new findings and said to continue with the same medicine. If any one can suggest me what should i do ?????

Hi there!

Your neurologist is correct with the suggestion since there is little extra than can be done aside medications and physiotherapy. Strokes cannot be reversed and management is the best possible control of risk factors to prevent such future attacks. Active management is only indicated if the stroke presents very early still in the developing stage. I would suggest continuing with the same management plan as well.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
