Attacks of vision/hearing loss and loss of muscle control

I am a 27 year old female that occasionally has attacks of loss muscle control.

First I become nauseated and then my vision becomes blurred. After that my hearing slowly goes, and with much effort I can take a few "drunken" steps before I collapse on the ground. I have no control over anything at this point except my thoughts, and mentally I am completely normal and aware. Then in about 3 to 5 minutes my hearing slowly comes back and I can feel that I am covered in sweat. I am weak after, but other then that, completely back to normal. Does this sound like a stroke?

I am very worried that this will happen when I am driving....

Any idea's?

Hi,

These symptoms can be due to low blood pressure and low blood sugar levels and dehydration also.
I would suggest you to eat regularly , drink about 6-8 glasses of water everyday and keep your legs elevated above the level of the heart when lying down.
Hope this will help ease your symptoms. Take care!

There is no pain or headaches involved and I have had 3 since I was 21. I am otherwise perfectly healthy; no medications, low BP, normal BS....

There are no triggers and nothing to connect the incidents, and I talked to my GP after the second one but he just kind of shrugged it off. I guess I will just have to go to a drop in clinic and talk to another Dr......

Hi,

Since when are you having these symptoms?

These symptoms could be due to stroke like you have mentioned. Another possibility is a migraine attack and excessive stress and anxiety.

These cannot be seizures since you do not lose consciousness.

Have you been able to identify a trigger for these attacks?

I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with your physician as soon as possible and undergo a complete clinical evaluation.
