BRAIN MRI

HELP!! I AM LOSING IT!!   LATEST REPORT AT BOTTOM

For over two two + yrs I have presented to doctors with multiple symptoms. Tremors hands and legs, loss of words and recall, garbled speech occasionally, not understanding what is said to me frequently -but my hearing is good, stammering for words, loosing thoughts, sometimes loosing my balance - though not falling, along with going thru 5-6 names before i get the right family members name (my own kids) sometimes not even realizing I  have said the wrong one. I can loose a thought right in mid sentence and most i frequently do. I was great with faces and names and now struggle. I am getting very frustrated. I was good at speaking and excellent in making a point, now I am a bumbling idiot most the time, but hey i make ppl laugh (at my expense).
It yakes me forever to type often hitting keys 2-3 times and mispelling things - which was never me.
I played many  sports and was pretty good - had full ride scholarships and graduated with honors, now I can't seem to carry on an intelligent conversaation with a 3 yr old.

11-06 Brain MRI .7 Tesla
'NORMAL except 2 subaceous cysts'

1-2008  Brain MRI  3.o Tesla
"The ventricular and cisternal spaces are normal for age.  Ten to fifteen tiny foci of signal abnornality are seen predominately in the juxtacortical white matter. Several lie in the deeper parietal white matter. No lesions are seen adjacent to the ventricles or within the corpus collosum. No abnormal enhancement or intracranial mass is seen.

The paranasal sinuses, mastoid air cells and middle ear cavities are clear.

IMPRESSION: Multiple tiny foci of signal abnormalty in the juxtacortical white matter of the parietal lobes represent a on-specific finding which could indicate early small vessel occlusive disease. The pattern of distribution is not classic for a demylelinating disorder.

The remainder of the study is unremarkable."

Hello.

Dementia is not a demyelinating disorder. Dementia is a disorder which can have up to 50 different causes. The commonest ones are the vascular dementia and Alzheimer's type dementia. High blood pressure is a contributing factor for vascular dementia.

Hello, Dr. Thanks for your reply. I am 42 - 43 on the 9th of Feb.  I have had sevral very bad blows to my head - at least three of them ending me in the hospital. The last one was about 11 years ago. With that the next day I had shakiness, passed out, kept throwing up and was in for many hours -- the hospital concluded another concussion due to blunt force trauma the day before (a batter threw the bat and it hit me in the head)
In 1976, I was in the hospital following a truck/trailer -camper accident which left me whith an "ostrich eggg" size lump in the back of my head.

Does dymentia always show demylynation though? Mine did not and I wrote a direct quote.

Thank you soooo much! I was starting to think my symptoms were all in my head -- now I know at least some are!

Hello.

The MRI picture suggests a vascular cause to your symptoms. And there is a definite cortical function deficit. The cognitive abilities are compromised, especially the factual memory.

This could either be a vascular dementia, or a beginning of Alzheimer's. I am sorry I do not know your age.

Do you have blood pressure issues ?
