Bell Palsy

Dear doctor,
My wife ( Pregnant on 5th month ) had a problem in her left eye last Tuesday , at Friday morning all reactions on her left side stopped.
Saturday evening we visit a doctor and he said that she is suffering from Bell ( 7th nerve ) and she must take prednisolon for 10 days with low concentration dose (10 mg morning +10 mg evening ) plus Vitamin B12 .
Is this dose OK starting from Saturday night ?
Is there any risk for the fetus regarding prednisolon use ?
Is my wife will be cured and back normal ?

I'm not a doctor, but I am a patient with Lupus that required Prednisone therapy during pregnancy. In the fifth month and at that dosage I would not worry too much. Ask the OBGYN if she can just take 20mg in the morning though because taking 10mg at night may cause her to have problems sleeping.  Was the doctor able to determine what triggered the Bell's Palsy? Was your wife checked for gestational diabetes, high blood pressure etc?

Symptoms should subside between 2-6 weeks if she indeed has Bell's Palsy.
