sever back pain

What does this mean L4-L5 shows slight posterior displacement narrowing, mild discogenic endplate sclerosis, diffuse buldging, a 3-4mm broad-based posterior disc herniation and can it become worse?
I have extreme lower back pain and now it has become so bad I can barely walk around any more. I feel like I will be in a wheel chair soon. What if any thing else can I do for this. Right now I take pain medication but they are becoming more and more ineffective. I don't really want to tell the doctor this because I don't want to seem like a pill popper. I have had injections and oh boy has that just increased my pain level.

You have compression and entrapment of your
sciatic nerve. Go to the website of Dr. Jerome Groopman
who has several articles. He isn't selling anything. Get his
book "How doctor's Think." Physical therapy is
square one and surgical intervention, usually
a laminectomy, a very last option. Meanwhile
ask for  a TENS device and transdermal lidocaine
patches.

The meaning of the L is Lumbar and the number's are the place's that you are having an issue with. I hope this helps you out but if you need more information just contact your doctor.
