This describes the episodes I have had. The first time, I was walking past the sofa and had to immediately sit AND lie my head down as I felt like I would fall to the ground! I had a few more light "spasms" and then one that caused me to have double-vision for about 10 minutes. Several months later, I just had another. I was already in bed and relaxed so I was able to describe it better. It felt just like a sudden muscle spasm but in my brain! I was dizzy for a second when it happened. I had Shingles with referred pain near my heart just after the first episodes and thought I was having heart or stroke problems but tests came back negative. I had been under a lot of stress but there really was no stress this last time. It DOES have me a little worried! I was/am fearful of a stroke or something.
I am going for an EEG on Thurs. Super Nervous ... my Dr is a little suspicious of seizures. Or he said it could be a misfiring of the nerves in the base of my skull. ANyone ever hear of that?
Hi there.
Your symptoms can really be hard to evaluate since these are fleeting and transient. Most often, the physical and neurologic evaluation done by your doctor or neurologist will turn out normal or unremarkable during official consultations. The fact that your MRI is normal gives us comfort that we are not dealing with anything seriously dangerous. some explanations for this condition can be due to stress, which causes muscles to be hyper-excited, or deficiencies in minerals such as Calcium and essential vitamins. I suggest you avoid stress as much as possible (though I know this may sound impossible) and eat a balanced diet or have supplementation. Regards.
