Continued Chiari Malformation issues

My wife has suffered over 8 years with multiple issues surrounding get head and back.   Last year we moved to Minnesota and by luck stumbled onto an amazing doctor that diagnosed get with chairi malformation and did a decompression survey. After a few months of recovery time she started feeling much better. Her numbness in her legs was gone, swooshing sound in her ear was gone, and most importantly her headaches were gone.  A year later she had double layer fusion back surgery (L4, L5, and S1).  Three weeks after surgery her headaches are back. Not as bad ss they were, but they are definently "spinal pressure" related, according to her.

My big question.... what the heel happened?  Could something from the back surgery have caused different issues in her head?

The doctor said after looking at the MRI and back xrays everything structuraly looks great but the pain and headaches are still there. Any advice would be much appreciated

intracranial hypertension fits like a glove.  It even helps explain the sounds in her ear that usually accompany the headache. More we just need to convince our doctor and find treatment

The most recent MRI was of the brain and nothing...as far as the headaches go they get worse when she lays down but never really go away even when upright. Ill do some more research on your suggestion.  Thanks for taking the time to respond

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your wife’s medical problems. Was a MRI of the brain done? If no, then please get this done. The pain could be spinal headache, which worsens on standing up and improves or disappears on lying flat. Does she have a headache which follows this pattern? If she has morning and evening headaches which improve during day time then probably it is due to benign intracranial hypertension.
It could also be post-surgery stress headaches. Please consult her doctor regarding this. Take care!
