I had oral surgery to have 22 teeth removed exactly 1 week ago today. This was under general anaesthetic so I required an I.V.
I sat down in the chair and a male nurse followed me in. He prepped to insert the IV and it was as though he was digging for gold and I could feel the needle scraping on bone. I asked him to stop and he did, pulled out the needle and put it properly in my right arm first try! I have never had an experience like it in my 50 years of many needles and iv's!
So, once I got through all the icky stuff that is surgery...about Friday...I noticed this awful pain in my hand. It starts at the entry site of botched IV and when I try to make a fist the pain radiates to the area between the knuckle of the forefinger and the knuckle of the middle finger.
Today I noticed that the area between the two knuckles are pretty much numb. The pain still exists though and I am wondering if I should try to see my family doctor or perhaps my Neurologist?

I appreciate any info you may have to make.
