Diagnosis of Benign Myoclonus, What is it?

Hi,
I've had severe myoclonus since October, it's constant and everyday.  My doctor called yesterday and gave a diagnosis of Benign Myoclonus, yet didn't elaborate.  I can't find information about it anywhere.  Could somebody please give me the definition, symptoms, treatment, and prognosis?  Thank you so much.  Any help/info is appreciated.

i've mine since last march. my neuro doesn't think that it's benign yet he can't seem to find what's causing it so at the moment we're taking the "let's wait and see" approach. i'm taking sodium valproate and lamotrigine at the moment which is keeping it mostly under control but i still have my bad days sometimes when it just goes crazy.
take care

HI! I am so glad I read your post. I might now know what is wrong with me. It started in November and is sporadic and disabling when it happens. Go to mayoclinic.com and search for myoclonus. That's what I did.
