Does an AVM suppose to hurt? It's Complicated.

I was diagnosed having an AVM-(Arterior Vascular Malformation) in my left Cerebellar Hemisphere. The NL told me that I was probably born with it, but I don't understand WHY it hurts. Should it? And..isn't that just cause to be concerned, if it hurts?
IT just doesn't feel right. It feels strange like someone has their hand laying on it. It hurts a lot and I don't understand why. Feels like my hair being pulled too. My most recent MRI showed that I had an abnormal vein and they didn't say which one..or are they talking @ the AVM? Surely, this has to be something else or they would have used a different term besides vein. At least, I think that..but not sure. It's about right...something else!!  If, I am not going through enough already. :o Already have been dx'd Lyme disease(dx'd by Igenex), Addison's( secondary adrenal insufficiency), candida, Fibro and a host of other things. Had endometriosis and have bad allergies, where I took allergy shots for years. Now, I just take my Zyrtec and my nasal spray(prescription).
I have pinched nerves and many disk herniations(T 7- T 12) . My back pretty much is used to pain. Oh, I have a CM(Chiari Malformation) and a C2 scerlotic lesion too. Fwheww...I think that is it.
Wanted to mention right quick, what happened today out of the blue. My left foot starting itching and when, I went to scratch it...noticed a large blue knot on the top. My foot has burned, stung and ached all day...even up into my calf muscle and on top of the shin. It still is doing all of those things and going to see my doc in the morning. But, sure that..is another story. Of course, not completely sure of anything..it could be connected. :o
Mostly, my question is why does the area where the AVM is...hurt a lot? It will burn and feel like someone has pulled my hair there. It will feel like pressure there too and almost like someone has their hand on it.
I've been keeping nauseated a lot and even, having spells of being light-headed and dizzy at times. I have many head pains and some migraines too. A lot of pain on the temple region that's electrical. Lights hurt my eyes and I can't stand to see flashing lights..it does something to me. My neck hurts and the muscles stay tensed all the time. I was told, after having an ultrasound that my muscles were tightening up in my neck. Why? Could any of it be due to the AVM...or maybe, the ACD & F spinal diskectomy surgery that I had back in '06? Also, had a bone spur removed from my left jaw-bone back in '88 and could possibly have some adhesions.
I don't know the connection or where it is coming from, but my face has been numb for over two years. It is only numb on the left side. Also, I've been having these electrical stinging pains that start, at the corner of my left eye and shoot through the big blue vein that is very visible, on the side of my face. I have noticed where veins are blue and visible even on my chest. I hate to say it, but I even have my maiden name that looks like it has been etched on my chest. The M looks just like that and is cut and not smooth or rounded. Strange....
I am wondering IF all of THIS is happening because I haven't been treated for the Lyme disease yet and I'm at the late or chronic stage of it. They aren't treating me, due to the candida. The candida came on me, before even taking any antibiotics at all and how, are they going to get it treated..if, I can't get rid of the candida? Sorry, I'm kind of dealing with a lot and can run off, into so many tangents. :/
I've had Lyme for 6 years and so neurological that I jerk/twitch and fling my arms. My LEGS are horrible and ache, burn and sting all the time. It's like RLS multiplied by hundred and use the massage feature on my bed, so that I don't feel it as much. It helps, but sometimes feel like I'm going crazy and then, I pray. The Lord always brings me back together and I'm sure, He has carried me many a time.
I am afraid of what is to come, but praying that this AVM isn't going haywire at the same time. Hmm...so many things wrong and wanted to address this pain. What do you guys think about me having pain, where the AVM is? Thank you and sure do appreciate any response..growing weary.
God Bless you all and peace be with you. :)

Thank you Bell123,
Getting another MRI of my brain done next week, so hoping that they will figure out what is the culprit. It could be a mixture of all three. :o
God Bless and appreciate the compliment. Yep, I am pretty strong and The Lord helps me to be that way. I try to be happy, no matter what.
Good luck to you 2!

I think it is the AVM they are talking about.

I don't know if your problems are caused by the AVM or by the chiari or migraine or something else. I would try to treat it as migraine and see if it had any effect. Migrainous people are very sensitive to disturbances so if you have AVM and chiari etc you can imagine how much that must irritate your migraine gene, if you have it.

Sorry to hear that you have so many diagnosises. But you seem like a strong person who can get a happy life anyway. That is something to be proud of.

Good luck to you!

I am so sorry to hear of your AVM that's on your leg and the trouble that you've had from it. I've never heard of that before and have learned something today. Will keep you in my prayers and hope that you are doing well now.
I was referring to a brain AVM that I'm dealing with. I just didn't know that people had them in other areas and only thought that they were located in the brain.
I'm having a lot of pain in the area and my hair feels like it is has been pulled tight, where that area is. I don't understand why it is hurting. I didn't know that an AVM was suppose to hurt. A most recent MRI has revealed something new. They call it an abnormal vein, but they didn't tell me where it was or IF, I should be concerned about it. Could it be the AVM that they are talking about? So, I just know that it hurts and it is scaring me. I don't want to have an aneurysm or anything. Is there anyone out there that has one in their brain that hurts?
A quick question: I experience so many symptoms and wonder if, the AVM is responsible for them or is it the Lyme or Addison's? I have body tremors that feel strange. My body is vibrating and it is all in my chest, but my legs NEVER stop. I have cramps, burning, aching..so many symptoms. Also,  I have been doing things backward and that is scary. I write days of the week down backward and the dates. :o
Now...I'm even having some emotional symptoms that has been added to all of it. It seems that I could get angered easy or be aggressive and snap, but always had a long wick, when it come to getting mad. I know that It's the being in constant pain that is hard and learning to adapt and adjust to taking the pain. I am good at trying to breath and stay stress-free, but there is just so much stress and aggravation that I deal with daily. There is enough trouble in a day. :/
Just praying that they figure out what I need to do, before it is too late. I just have too many things wrong and need to get the culprit taken care of. BUT, what is that?
God Bless you, for responding and my thoughts are with you. :)

I've had an AVM on my right leg since I was born but it wasn't diagnosed til I was about 8. I have lots of pressure on mine too & a lot of uncomfortable almost pulling feeling in the area , usually whenever its hot out Cruz the arteries & veins expand. My doc has me use compression socks when I start to have this pain & elevate my leg above my heart so not much blood goes to it. Also icepacks help. It goes away within 30 mins when I do these three things combined. I know its bothersome but since I've had it for so long , its really just become a way of life for me. Feel free to ask any further questions.. hope this helped! Oh & also now that I think aboutt it , I had a coil run through my groin into my leg under anestisia where they trued to block off the arteries with metal bits but there was no luck.. I'd suggest just coping with it & not getting surgeries depending on your situation.
