Don't know what is going on

I have a friend I am doing research for:  She has a severe burning sensation in back, chest, arms and legs, but when she has these attacks, she also has cold sensation in hands and feet.  She also has severe fatigue to the point that she can be sitting at her computer and fall asleep or even on the toilet and doesn't realize she is "out" until she wakes up or someone wakes her up.  She feels as if her memory is also being affected and seems to have lapses in short term memory (where she laid down her glasses 10 minutes ago, etc.)  Could you lead us in the right direction on care and what this could possibly be.  Thank you.

I'm likewise sorry to hear about your friend's condition.  Judging by what you posted I can tell that her problem may be very complex.  She may have problems with her cardiovascular system and arteries, that's why she passes out without her knowing (especially in the toilet).  She may also be suffering from hormonal disorders that's why she's having all these changes in sensations.  A neurologic problem also cannot be discounted since she's having these lapses in memory.

Whatever the case I agree with wingnut19 that she needs to see a physician right away, an Internist for a start.  Your internist will then work her up depending on what he sees to be the problem, and refer her to the proper specialists if needed.

I hope your friend gets help soon.  We can be dealing with more serious problems than we thought

I'm sorry your friend is feeling so terrible.  I only have one piece of advice:

She should go see a doctor ASAP. Please make sure she gets there, and soon....It's better to be safe than sorry..
