Double vision when waking up

For the past few months i've had double vision or positive afterimages when i wake up. It only happens sometimes, probably like once a week or less and it will only last about 30 seconds or so until everything is normal. I don't seem to get this during the day time. I also do suffer from dry eyes idk if that has anything to do with it. The main reason why i am posting this in the neurology forum is because i also have noticed "visual snow" resently in my vision along with an influx of floaters. I've been to the eye doctor and he said my eye were fine, so i thought it might be a neurological problem. Also my floater and all my eye problems seemed to start happening about 2 weeks after i had semi mental breakdown. Basically all it was, was anxiety that put me into a spell of depersonalization which lasted for about 3 months. Now its been about 3 weeks since i've experienced any real anxiety and about a week since i've experience depersonalization, i was just wondering if these eye problems will subside. They might even be something completely different. I mainly want to know if the double vision (diplopia) appon waking up is normal or if its worth getting checked out by a neurologist.

i'm not sure, but i think that the double vision miht be related to what is called 'vertigo' if you say it's accompanied with dizziness. i'm looking up more about vertigo because my friend told me i might have one when i experienced being dizzy when i move my head too much. until, i came along with double vision while searching it.. and then i remembered i experienced double vision every time i wake up twice now. but it didn't come back again. i think they might be related, one way or another.. i'm not really sure though, coz i haven't seen a doctor myself..

I am also curious about this. I have been having temporary double vision for a few seconds every time I awake for the last two years. Recently It has gotten, to be longer. My body also feels very strange after I wake up now. I feel like, I will fall over if I get up too quickly or walk.

Hi- I know this has been a while, but I was just wondering if you had found any answers.  My double vision started about 3 years ago after I too suffered a semi breakdown. I had a bunch of tests for other symptoms & nothing came back. They gave me Xanax for my anxiety- so I assumed it was that. My symptoms come & go, but now I notice when I'm tired I get dizzy (along with ringing in my ears) and sometimes when I wake up I'll have temporary double vision. I had an eye exam & everything came back normal. I had floaters too that would come & go- right now they are not bothering me. I'm not on any medication right now, so nothing that I would have a reaction too. Thanks.
