Down and Out because of spinal fluid leak i had

recently had a high volume blood patch they think I have a spinal fluid leak although it seemed to have healed on my mri. I had after childbirth and an epidural turned into a wet tap. This blood patch makes me feel so sore. Im giving it a few days but so far in a lot of pain. Why would I be in more pain after the blood patch? So frustrated : ( I have 2 babies to take care of and its impossible im so down.

Should I go through with the myelogram to find the leak or leaks or try to let heal on my own? Its been a year now.

Also, should I try to go to the mayo clinic or somewhere im in pa.

They haven't done any myelograms but there not so sure they would find the leaks. So I just did the blood patch. it started from an epidural I had so wouldn't it be in the lumbar area how hard is that?

thanks no I just don't understand how a leak could be going on this long its been a year. Its like theyre not telling me all that's going on with my mris. I have fluid behind my left ear and they aren't diagnosising me. the hospital that made the error is the neurologists I go to so Im thinking about going to the mayo clinic since my insurance wont cover any other neuros but the ones ive seen.

Does anyone know if the mayo clinic is good at that

Hi,,,so sorry as I know how it feels I also had a CSF leak following an epidural...I was in the hospital for 5 days flat on my back and it did heal on it's own...

I am not sure if you got instructions after your patch to lay flat for a few days and keep hydrated....even once you are up I would not lift the children for a while....if the patch works you should know as you will no longer have the headaches when you are upright....

I am not sure also what you mean by pain...or sore ...so you mean where the patch was injected?
