DuraGen for post-op lumbar fibrosis

I suffered a discetomy/laminectomy 20 years ago for a severe L5-S1 herniation. A rather successful operation until now as I've been suffering for leg pain for several months. With the aid of a MRI and an electromiography my neurosurgeon considers it a case of late post-op lumbar fibrosis with a severe radiculopathy from the S1 nerve root. I'm on conservative treatment. (Lyrica150mg/day, Ibuprofen 1200mg/day). However he thinks it's likely I would need an operation to free the S1 root from its "entrapment"

In order to prevent scar tissue to re-occur he intends to use a DuraGen membrane to "wrap" the nerve. I would like to know how successful is this procedure.

Indeed. That's why I'm interested in this DuraGen product.

I really don't know about the success rate, but if you develop scar tissue your condition will most likely get worse.
