Eye Headaches

I started having pains in both my eyes accompanied by jelly floaters.  I went to the eye doctor and was told I had to vessels burst in behind my eye.  I then went to my doctor and had numerous blood tests taken and all the results were normal.  Then it was thought that the constant pain in my eyes were migraines.  I had taken migraine medicine only to make it worse.  I now have to wait for a month until I can see a neurologist.  I am pretty much losing my mind.  I have tried every type of over the counter asprin motrin exedren you name it nothing helps.  Do you have any suggestions on what might be causing this eye pain?  Any suggestions on what may be helpful to stop the pain?  I also have uneplained ear aches and occasional jaw pain.

I can't say your's is the same but I started having "eye aches" in the 8th grade. It was usually only one eye ie. Left eye. My father a General Practice physician like Family Practice doctors these days stated it was due to eating rich foods eg. avocado or peanut butter sandwiches in my lunch and that I probably didn't have enough hydrochloric acid in my stomach to properly digest the extra oil or fat. I started taking hydrochloric acid pills whenever I had meals with oily or fatty foods and didn't get the eye aches. I don't have them often anymore even without the HCL tablets but occasionally if I loose sleep and eat a "heavy" meal I will get one. I also am sensitive to light and noise when it happens. I just want to lie down in a dark quiet place until Asprin or Tylenol has time to dull it.   Munber

Hi,

Hope you are feeling better.
I would suggest you to get your BP checked. High BP can cause pain behind the eyes and rupture of small subconjunctival blood vessels.
Another possibility that needs to be ruled out is sinusitis. Sinusitis can cause severe eye pain. Migraine can also cause eye pain but since you have no relief with migraine medication this condition can be ruled out.
If you wear contact lenses, the pain could be the result of complications due to contact lens.
Please discuss all these possibilities with your treating doctor. Take care!

Could you describe the eye pain you are having?  Is it throbbing, burning, sizzling, electric, sparks?  I have horrible eye pain in both eyes that started suddenly 3 years ago. I saw doctor after doctor, all kinds of eye doctors with no results, my eyes look fine, my blood work is fine, my MRI is fine. It's all in my head became a common comment.   I ended up in the hospital due to suicide risk and was seen by a russian neurologist.  He prx Gabapentin, Cymbalta, Tramadol,as well as lorazepam for anxiety.  I'm not pain free but this helps me get by.  My pain is obviously nerve related in some way.
