Hi Happy,
I was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis about a year before I got diagnosed with MS, even though I was having MS symptoms, I didn't have the bands so my nuero wouldn't diagnose it. The ON started with eye pain, especially when I moved my eye from side to side. I also lost color perception in that eye. Have you checked to see if you see colors differently from eye to eye? Cover up one eye and then the other. See if you see a difference in color saturation. The ON is bothersome but they give you steroid infusions and that helps a lot. Good luck to you.

Hi,

Pain has now been accepted as a symptom of MS. At least half the patients with MS may get pain of some kind during the course of MS.

Ocular or eye pain is known to occur with MS . In fact, this pain may be followed by Optic Neuritis, the inflammation of the disc of the eye. Therefore you must talk to your doctor soon and appraise him of the pain that you have This may require therapy to prevent the damage to the eye and its nerve.

Hope this helped, let us know if you may need any more information.
Best regards
