About 4 months ago, I started to have random, excruciating bouts of pain that would run the entire right side of my body.
After being told over and over again it was "due to anxiety", I finally got a referral to a neuro who ran a full Autoimmune Panel, Paraneoplastic Panel, and ordered a brain MRI. Everything came back normal aside from an elevated ANA level which was attributed to an Epstein-Barr infection I had in early 2020.
Since then, I've started to notice a postural tremor in my right arm and hand specifically when I lift up my arm or flex my wrist for any extended period of time (like when typing or talking on the phone, etc.). It "feels" weak, but there's been no loss of function that I've been able to notice, just this shakiness that only occurs with exertion.
I saw my GP again who did a standard clinical neurological exam and said there was nothing remarkable to note, but I'm very worried that this may be the onset of something serious like Parkinson's or ALS; especially since it's only occurring on one side.
I'm absolutely terrified and this is causing me a great deal of anxiety.
Everything I've heard/read about ALS talks about this gradual weakness and I'm worried that this new shakiness is due to my muscles failing.
Any advice would be incredibly welcome.
Thank you.
