Fluoroquinolones

Hi,
Six months ago I suffered tendinitis in both Achilles tendons following a course of an antibiotic based on Fluoroquinolones prescribed for bronchitis. I also suffered a loss of balance, muscle bulk, weakness, all symptoms associated with peripheral meuropathy. What can I do to alleviate these symptoms?

What kind of medicines are you talking about Londres.  Homeopathic remedies have only improved my situation for the better. All the doctors had to offer was to take 1000 mg parecentamol 4 x daily. To do the exercises for my back that they give to any oridinary person with slipped discs of the spine.
They haven't listen to me yet. They keep saying because I have a hydrophaelus  they wont touch my spine. Go do the exercises that you got from mensen dieck. or a phsical therapist.
Not worth going to a neurologist any more. They don't listen. I am sticking with the plan with the alternative medicine. At least now I can type this message and I don't have the hellish headache that I had when I woke up this morning.

No one knows the answers to this problem. I am so done with them.
Thanks for the support . Good luck to all of them who still find answers with the physicans of today.

As Londres70 stated, unfortunately, the damage is generally irreversible. There is experimentation with small intestine sub mucosa to rebuild tendons, but FDA approval has not been granted. Do a search.

I am so sorry to hear of the problems you are having.   I have heard of those side effects, perhaps you could try asking one of the neurology experts on the forum
Good luck to you

Are you seeing a Neurologist at this time?  He/she should be able to devise a treatment plan for you.

Unfortunately these types of medicines CAN cause irreversible damage and all that can be done after the damage has occurred is to manage the situation vs. curing or alleviating the situation 100%.  This may or may not improve.
