sorry it took a few days to respond back to you. from what i can tell for me the lorazipam and topamax has worked the best on my migraines. when i was given it in the beginning it also helped my seizures but as time has passed its not helped as much now on the seizures.. it still helps on my migraines.. (at least most of them, it came close 2 times that i almost went to the hospital for help).
Thanks so much Dr.Sharma and pain2111! :)
I have tried it for quite a while. Didn't work for me. My neuro just put me back on it again and up'd the dose. He thinks that might work, but I know people who say it works wonders for them. Guess it depends.
Hi there. The onset of action of topiramate to reach steady state is about 4 days in persons with normal renal function. CNS side effects may be minimized by initial slow titration or small reductions in other medications with sedative effects. These effects usually diminish over time. The mean plasma elimination half-life is 21 hours and it is excreted in 4-5 days. It may cause eye problems like sudden decrease in vision with or without eye pain and redness, secondary angle closure glaucoma etc. this could also cause decreased sweating and increased body temperature. Hope this helps. Take care.
thanks allus. do u think the lorazipam is whats helping with the seizures and that the topoamax is just for the migraines? or is it a combination of both? and also if u remember, how long after you began taking the meds did you start to notice a difference? thanks so much for your help!!!! :)
