Have had an unremitting headache with visual disturbance for 5 months, please advise

I am a 18 year old white male, 6'7 200lbs.

Currently on Nortyptaline, ineffective after 10 weeks 50mg dose.

Cause is unknown, no doctor has been able to identify the cause and most hardly even seem to care. My neurologist told me to "be less stressed" even though I was not stressed upon onset, nor am I now.

I have had it for 155 consecutive days with no change.

Symptoms: Pain Level 4-7 Headache with pain centralized in the front upper right of temple, spreading over and around forehead to left temple but pain less intense in these areas, 3-5

Visual Disturbance, difficult to describe but includes difficulty “zoning in” on objects, makes it difficult to read and hard to focus on the “big picture”, school nearly impossible

As for treatment, so far I have tried Ibuprofen - No effect Naproxen Sodium - No effect Excedrin - No effect Toradol Shot - No effect Sumatriptan - No effect Zoloft - No effect Nortriptyline - Used for 10 weeks no effect NSAID Gel for temple - No effect Chiropractic Massage - No effect Sports medicine massage - No effect Vision Therapy - No effect Consistent Exercise - No effect Healthy Diet - No effect Glasses - Slight pain reduction due to less visual stimulus

I have gone to all variety of doctors, had my eyes checked, intracranial pressure checked, mri, ct scan, blood tests and everything seems to be functioning perfectly.

I have had migraine and tension headaches in the past, but this pain is not comparable to those, nor is responsive to the medicines I've been prescribed for them.

My current theory is that I have a weird case of Temporal Arteritus. I think my unusual vision problems could reasonably be linked to inflammation in the internal carotid artery which can in turn affect the ophthalmic artery, resulting in changes to vision that would not be perceivable to an ophthalmologist because there would be no change to the structure/positioning of my eyes nor would it have any effect on intracranial pressure.

When I pitched this to my new primary care doctor, he dismissed it without even bothering to check my head.

I feel like I'm running out of options and my life is falling apart. It is baffling to me that with all of the medical knowledge out there, nobody seems to know what's wrong with me.

If anyone has ever heard of anything like this, or has a suggestion of what I should do next, I would very much like to hear it, thank you.

Hey... stress works in different ways. The worst thing is a dismissive doctor but from what you are explaining it sounds like tension issues. Sometimes are bodies are stressed and tensed without us even realizing... it can even occur in our sleep. Were there any other changes in your lifestyle, food, medications that led up to the symptoms? Something like an environmental stimulus could be causing these issues... seasonal perhaps? Yes doctors tend to be dismissive when you don't fall into the statistical categories, but what you are describing sounds like a tension headache.

I used a moderate dose of adderall 2 days before the onset to help me grind out college apps. How might I go about relieving stress?
Was this new for you... had you tried adderall before? I'm assuming it was recreational... how much was the dosage?
I'm only asking because I take it and if you were on a high amount in combination with the stress of college apps... and lets face it, you probably are a stressed person if you are on this site as well. Major tension build up.
acupuncture is great
