My wife has a very similar situation with the same eye. She has suffered from Vertigo for several years. She crushed the "ball" and "hammer" bones in the back of her left ear and has some hearing loss associated with it and has a hearing aid. We noticed on a recent MRI CD we had given to us from a test she had done. She does not quite as much fluid flowing from the back of the skull to the ear as the right side.
My response to this is simply another question, after reading up on an article from Wikipedia on the subject of Hemifacial Spasms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemifacial_spasm) could this be linked with her symptoms of Vertigo and as suggested in the article claiming that a full nerological exam is required with the combination of a CT, MRI & EMG would determine this or should we consult or Neurologist. We share the same doctor because I suffer from Epilepsy.
Hi. These symptoms can indeed be related to the eye. A condition called glaucoma, which causes increased pressures in the globe of the eye can cause all of these pain and at the same time can cause dizziness and nausea. Some form neuropathy of the cranial nerves (especially the facial nerve and nerves controlling the eye muscles) can also produce these symptoms. I agree with this specialist consult and hopefully everything will come clear. Regards and God bless.
