How to treat damage caused by neuropathy

14 years ago I stopped the sulfa drugs that caused my neuropathy. The neuropathy
stopped and with the advice to take vitamine B12, I was cured. But I have damaged nerves in both legs.
Recently, I have some feeling in the legs, but now I need guidance on how to handle this
recovery. What kind of doctor should I see?  I have had bad experiences with neuroligists and
my family doctor prescribes pain killers, But I have no pain. But I have started to feel sore muscle
discomfort and strange nerve action.

Sorry. But a big part of my problems has come from doctors treating me as if my neuropathy was from diabetic. That and then not bothering to look for the non diabetic cause.

You might try alpha lipoic acid supplements, available without prescription. It's hard to say this would help, however there is some literature suggesting it will help with diabetic neuropathy.

14 years for me.  but now I have damaged nerves and no pain. Rolfing has solved my muscle problems. Using my putter as a cane I play 4 rounds of golf each week.

I suspect alternative medicine of some sort is going to be the most help to you.  Perhaps an OD, chiropractor, acupuncturist, or herbalist. I have a damaged nerve in my leg and I am just thrilled that I found the cause so that the electric shocks could be stopped.  I am sure the feeling will never be normal since I had it for 15 years.
