Hi all
I have a question regarding my 8 year old daughter.
A few weeks back, she kept complaining of earache/headache mainly on the left side of her head (around the ear) but occasionally on the right or nearer the front. It seem to really come and go, literally one minute she'd be fine, the next she'd complain her ear was hurting and lay down for a few minutes then she'd be up again.
Now, she does have a bad tooth a the back on the left of her mouth, shich is due to come out, and I simply wondered at the time if it was this taht caused it? It still might of been. We took her to the doctors who confirmed she did not have an ear infection. We also took her to an Opticians who confirmed her eyes were perfect and everything was normal there.
Around the same time as the headaches, we noticed she started to develop an occasional leg twitch, interestingly I'm sure it was only the right leg. It was very infrequent, to the point I had really noticed it. However, over the last week and a bit, she now seems to twitch on her right arm as well, occasionally the leg, occasionally the arm. She only seems to twitch when sat or laid still and she DOES NOT seem to twitch when asleep. Only when awake, and not moving.
Also, her headaches/earache seem to have gone too, I think she said her ear was hurting her yesterday, but I can't remember before that when it was hurting her.
What can be causing this? Whats causing the twitching?
We went to the doctors last week, as we were going away for the new year. He did feel her neck and say her glands felt a little swollen. But she would not open her mouth for him, or then do anything he asked as she was so nervous. We have now booked an appointment with our GP with is next week.
Other than the twitching, and VERY now occsaional earache there is nothign wrong. Shes not in pain, she doesn't get tired all the time, she gets to sleep fine, she is sleeping fine, she's eating, she has no fever, she doesn't feel weak, she balances fine, she is perfectly happy. I don't think she even realises most of the time she is twitching.
What can it be?
Thanks
Take care
