Lesions in the Brain

I was told 2 years ago that I had optic nuritis, then I was told that I had MS because when I had the Brain MRI it showed 2 big lesions and a hole lot of little ones all over, now 2 years later my neurology doctor is questioning it, I went for a 2nd opinion and all the test came back negative yet I have all this lesions in my brain and no one seems to know why.  So now I am asking for a 3rd opinion,  I was told to stop the avonex shots and now i feel as bad as I did before the injections,  when I was on the injections I felt great.  What could this brain lesions be?  I also suffer from migrain headaches and have headaches everyday/

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
The lesions in an MRI are not definite diagnosis for MS. You need to have all symptoms of MS along with an MRI which would be the way of daignosis.
Without clinical symptoms only lesions in the brain cannot confirm MS, that is the reason i think your neurologist has suggested you to stop the medicine and the neurologist wants to diagnose your case properly.
AVONEX® (Interferon beta-1a). is the best treatment for MS and if your neurologist is not sure he cannot prescribe Avonex. Have patience in your treating physician and you can always discuss with him.
Take care!
