but I don't have high bp, migraines, diabetes or anyother thing that you mentioned. I rarely get headaches and I am only 25 years and why these white hyperintensites are shown on MRI.
My only problem is pain in my upper body for the past 2 years and some muscle twitching. The MRI results mentioned considering demylinating conditions, post viral syndrome or someother thing and recommened post contrast studies which I don't know what that is?
any response is appreacited.
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
White matter changes in the brain can occur in elderly, hypertensives, diabetics, smokers, migraineurs, people with a history of chronic headache, viral encephalitis, stroke, MS and alzheimer’s disease.
Enlarged Virchow robin spaces may be seen without any pathological cause or may indicate a microvascular injury. Microvascular injury is usually seen in patients with dementia or alzheimer’s disease. It is important to correlate these findings with your clinical symptoms.
Take care!
