I had a brain MRI that was normal. Six months later I had another one which showed a meningioma. Mine is on the back of my head, touching the cerebellum. This was in 2005. The neuro never told me I had it. He called and said the MRI was "unremarkable". I recently obtained the MRI report for my records and found out about it. I saw another neuro. He repeated the MRI. The meningioma measured something like 9.7x9.0x10mm. He just said we will repeat the MRI in 2 years. He wasn't too worried about it.
I also have a left frontal lobe meningioma, but mine is calcified. I found it 1.5 years ago and am waiting to get another MRI to see if it has grown(apparently calcified things can still grow) at the end of this month, they said it was small, apparently it was so small they didn't measure it, or even call to let me know when they found it all that time ago...I had, had head aches every day for the last 6 months until February when I was put on Tompax 100mg, now I have about 1 a week, but it comes with a price, mentally and financially.
Interesting to hear this....I have been dealing with strange headaches for a year now...all initiated when I have to use my eyes a lot on the computer, etc. I had an MRI back in 08 showing nothing, and 6 months ago there was a 4 x 10 mm meningioma by my eye. My symptoms still persist, and I get very spacey along with this. My neuro says my meningioma is too small for this...but yet why would all these symptoms start and persist so suddenly? I think we need to be evaluated on symptoms and not size per se, or the location. The fact that mine has obviously started sometime after my 08 mri makes me suspicious. Anyone else?
