Migranes

History two years ago was invovled in a car accident I was re-ended impact left me unconsious for a few minutes. I have had servere headaches-migranes in my forehead ever since. Every day! The migrane I have not has been pretty consistant since early May this year. For the last month my I have noticed my hands, feet and face have been going numb? I can bite my lip and not feel it. I thought it was the topamax? Sometimes it feels when the pain is more intense the numbness is as well. Is any one else having these problems? My doctor seems to be ignroing me. I seen neurology about 1 1/2 ago who told me i was to stressed out and I would end up in a looney bin to get some consuling, so I did. To be told I was fine and handling my crazy life you fine and he thought it might be related to the accident. So the next step was to send me to the chronic pain clinic, who sends me back to neurology and he sends me back to the chronic pain clinic for a second opinion.  The last year I have pretty my suffered with pain killers dark sunglasses and given up on everything. Any help would be great not sure if some of these doctors know what there doing.   help????

I have suffered from migraines for many years and at times very severe.  I go to an advanced proficiency activator chiropractor who has helped me tremendously.  You may have to look one up online.  I also take imitrex tablets and injections when times are rough and the chiropractor is not available.  I travel a distance to him.

Has any doctor done an EMG to see if there is nerve damage or impairment?
Is it an insurance issue that because it is due to an injury, you keep getting passed around?

Hi, Thank you for your question. I can understand your worrying concern about long term migraine headaches that may be most likely reason of your present symptoms and no sure success treatments that you have tried. The mainstay of the migraine treatment is always to identify the triggering factors and to avoid them. Triggering factors that may induce your migraine attack may be contraceptive pills, stress or depression, bright lights, loud noise and traveling. Other factors could be different foods such as cheese, chocolate, alcohol and even few fruits. Few women experience headache more commonly during the time of their menstrual periods & at the time of hormonal imbalance. I would suggest careful record of events that have proceeded with the attack and avoid those factors. In addition, try to rest in a dark & quiet room, meditate, have a balanced diet and avoid taking unnecessary drugs. Even then if you suffer continuous headache, please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the further underlying disorders here that may be the main reasons of your migraine attacks and can provide you an appropriate treatment. Hope this information proves helpful to you. Take Care & Regards!!!
