Minor calf pain 14 months after microdiscectomy

Hi,

14 Months ago I underwent a microdiscectomy (4-6 weeks after first signs of paralysis) to relieve the pressure on L5. Since then I have almost fully recovered (regained full mobility, muscles strengthened, etc).
What concerns me is that in the last few days i have been feeling a minor, persistent but not radiating pain on my left calf. Once, 3 days ago, i felt this as a sharp pain after jogging, today i have been feeling a minor - irritating -  discomfort on the same "area (2" along my calf). I believe i was experiencing similar pains for the first couple of months after the surgery.
Does this sound like a new herniated disk? In any case I would greatly appreciate if you shared your thoughts on whether the cause is neurological.

thanks again

I underwent fusion with instrumentation at l5/s1 for significant root nerve compression and severe foraminal stenosis due to DDD and spondylolisthesis. I had my surgery feb 22nd of this year. I'm 6 months out and have experienced leg pain and weakness off and on since 2 months post op. I am on gabapentin for nerve damage pain in my legs. I don't know when or if the pain will ever dissapaite. I had significant root nerve compression for almost a year before I had my surgery. I don't know if sharing my story helps any but I wish u the best!!
