I'm having weird neck spasms and I'm curious as to why.

So I've been having these weird spasms that cause my neck to flick in one direction and go back into place, a majority of the time it's the left direction. I've been having these twitches for a few years but lately it's been more noticeable. During these spasms I may also yap or instead of twitching my neck I slap something, but the slapping occurrence is not as common. It usually starts off feeling like a shiver, so the cold might have something to do with it, but I can feel the surge of energy run up my spine. It's like a sneeze in how you can feel it come up and sometimes it won't happen or there is nothing you can do to stop it. I do struggle with anxiety and depression and I'm moving into 7th grade. It does not distract me with my academic performance but some of my new friends I encountered last school year made fun of it or questioned it.
