Neck pain on the right side

My father has pain in his neck at the right side below the sub mammary gland. 25 years ago,He had his tonsils removed too. This pain is happening quite often. Anti-biotiocs do not have any effect. All the required tests have been done, at the end he had a PET scan of his whole body. Everything is normal but he still has horrible pain. The reason for this is unknown. HE ALSO HAS CERVICAL SPONDOLISIS. I would really like to know what kind of disease he's facing. If there's a treatment please suggest it.....

Was it the CT scan that diagnosed the spondylosis of the cervical and lumbar? MRI is usually the first diagnostic test done. Many people starting in their 30's develop this but do not have sypmtoms. Once symptoms start then proper treatment should take place.

Google Spondylosis- it is degenerative/arthritis changes in the spine.

Thank you for the reply. But the problem is he got his CT and PET scan from the Apollo hospital in Delhi. The doctors told him that his reports are normal. His pain does not go for days but it's short and extremely painful and it gets worse when he gets a cold. If it's anything related to age, then he's a 67 years old. Again, he has cervical spondolisis and lumbar spodolisis. I would realy like to know what's this neck pain a sign of a disease or something related with his back pains.....please help me.

Thank you for your question. There can be several reasons of such symptoms although without being able to examine him I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that he needs, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about his health concern.

Most likely possibility here is Cervical spondylosis or pinched nerve in cervical spine in which pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head, shoulders, arms or chest, rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness). If he suffers continuous symptoms, please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the further underlying disorders by clinically examine you & ordering MRI or CT scan here that may be the main reasons of his symptoms and can provide you an appropriate treatment. Hope this information proves helpful to you. Take Care & Regards!!!
