Nerve-pain in my Elbow.

I have had pain in my right elbow for many years. I have had a MRI scan on my neck some years ago, but nothing showed up. Consequently, no treatment was offered. Later I decided enough is enough, so I saw my GP again. She suggested I take Amitriptyline to help me sleep through the pain. I only get a very low dose -25Mg.  I decided to stop taking them recently,  as I did not like the idea of taking Antidepressants for a non-depressive condition, but the pain is now back worse than ever.

Could anyone suggest a way forward please?

Kind regards,
WellWish

Try this exercise, regularly.
Elbow  and neck exercise

Raise and hold both hands up above your head. Pull one elbow down behind your head, and  the other elbow up will be pulled up. Then repeat with the other elbow. Breathe out when you pull the elbow down, and breathe in when you raise your hands. Repeat this upto 11 times.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. When amitryptilline is given for neuropathic pain as if you have the dosage is much less when given for depression. Usually the starting dosage is 20 mg or less if, your condition is frail. your doctor may have instructed you to increase the dose amount by 25mg until you get full pain relief or the side effects become too much. Maximum dose for nerve pain is between 50 and 150 mg whereas for depression it is between 150 and 200mg. ideally doses should be timed with bedtime to take advantage of the sedating side effect. Hope this helps. Take care.
