Night Tremmors/Leg Pain

Hi - My mother is 59 years old and experiencing upsetting and, so far, unexplainable symptoms and I wondered if anyone was aware of similar cases. She's been experiencing severe leg pain/burning (staring at the hip and extending through the thigh/leg) for the past 6 months or so. It has often been dabilitating.

About two weeks ago, she began experiencing night tremmors, or periods of time during the night that she will wake up and shake for hours at a time. She says her muscles seem to tighten, and then her whole body shakes as if she were cold.. but is not. She also has not experienced fever with the tremmors. It's so frightening and unstoppable, that she's been anxious about even laying down to go to bed at night.

So far, blood & urine (after a trip to the ER) tests and X-ray (of her leg but not back) have not shown anything irregular. An MRI of her head earlier this week showed "changes" that her doctor described as possibly caused by mere aging. She's headed to a Neurologist and an Orthopedist next.

Any thoughts on what this might be? - either symptom or both jointly? Thanks for your input. We're awfully worried.

hi
I am a 49 yr.old male. on aug.2 2012 I was the lucky recipient of spinal fuision. I have no pain in my legs ,and can walk without pain. although the leg pain has gone(thank goodness), I still have a constant lower back aches, and am very limited on what I can do without spending the rest of the week on the couch.i have always been a little high strung, and fidgety, but it seems to be getting worse.my legs move constantly and if ipourposlly stop it then my toes in my shoes begin to make landspeed records.now they are starting to tingle feeling like its deep inside. and it keeps my awake all night.i have asked for help from my doctor and he gives me weird looks like I am searching for some kind of drug. I know its his job to keep that inmind but its getting old. I have stopped saying anything to him because I don't like to be thought of as some kind of addict
but this is becoming very   nerve wrecking. I cant stand these leg trembles and all night tingleing in my legs.please if you know anything that can help I would be greatful. and does the last back surgery have anything to do with it.
thankyou

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine her I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that she needs, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about her health concern.

Sometimes pinched nerve and neuropathy may be a reason of tremor & burning sensations altogether but need complete evaluation through a doctor. In addition, tremors could be associated with fatigue, stress, anxiety or a form of panic attack. Other possible causes of tremors could be overactive thyroid, Parkinsonism disease, alcohol use, certain medications, alkalosis, and low blood sugar. Therefore, it is quite essential to thoroughly assess the all possibilities here with the help of a doctor. Hope this helps.
