Hi,Please get a copy (disc)of your MRI a post it, so we can help you.
Hi there. Rathke’s cleft cyst are usually asymptomatic but can cause symptoms when they enlarge, secondary to compression of pituitary gland, pituitary stalk, opticchiasma,or hypothalamus.
Visual symptoms like decreased visual acquity, optic atrophy, field defects etc. Other causes of vertigo also need to be considered like labyrinthitis, meneire’s disease etc. if rathke’s cleft cyst is the only found culprit, the common treatment choice is transsphenoidal surgery where the cyst is partially excised and drained. This preserves pituitary function.
Another treatment option is the high dose steroid therapy which is seen to decrease the cyst size. Take care.
