Pain all over my body... help please!

Used to be very sport oriented.  Military woman.  Used to run everyday, golf, hike,
Injured back in May 06 while moving heavy equipment in a rotating/lifting manner.  MRI report show L4-L5 focal disc herniation which does not appear to interfere with the nerve root.
Radiation in left leg all the way down left foot in intermitent.
Since July 07, now I have a new onset of a different pain which I describe to be all over my body. Sciatica pain.  Facet joint injection nil result.  Multiple Steroid injections nil results. Various blood test all normal.  Stiffness after not moving for a while.  Specially at night.  Hand cramping very painful, unable to make a fist, feet and ankles also very painful, trouble walking specially going down stairs.  Lots of back pain, shoulder pain too.  No swelling, occasional tingling in both feet after sitting for a while.  Neurologist appointment, no operation will help as nerve root does not seem compromised.  Rheumatologist report seem to put blame on the medication and suggest stopping looking for new findings.  Bone scan was performed today... result are pending.
Lots of pain medication: Arthrotec, Oxycontin, Percocet, Amytriptiline, Topamax.
Can anyone explain this secondary, but excruciating pain I am experiencing, combined with a night hand and feet cramping that wakes me up frequently>

Thank you for your response.

Well this week marks the second year...sad anniversary of enduring constant agonizing pain in my leg and also pretty much everywhere (feet, knees pain and weakness)  I did get an ANA, ESR, ANCA, RA factors being investigated and it is all normal.  Rheumatoid Arthritis was ruled out and Fibromyalgia score 9, so too low apparently for this disease.
Bone scan was normal too.

Heat brings me comfort, but I'm never pain free.  I stopped taking Topamax as it alter my eating habits so much that I was virtually living off yogourt.

Back to my problem.  I also have pain in my extremities after waking up.  My hands are  almost always stiff and painful after waking up, my fingers can't bend properly, so are my feet and ankles.  I find it hard to walk then as it is so painful.  Basically, I have to take my medication one hour prior to getting up so I can move around a little easier.

My medication is as follow:
Morning:
1 Percocet
2 oxycodon
1 arthrotec
and some anxiety meds... Yes, my mental health is slowly going down...

Afternoon:
1 Percocet
1 arthrotec

Evening:
1 Percocet
1 Arthrotec
1 oxycodon
3 Amythriptiline

1 Percocet some other time during the day to help when the pain is too much

I am supposed to see a diagnosis Doctor   (some sort of Doctor House apparently!!!)

Any other idea what this could be?  I guess if I could have a diagnosis after two 2 years of great pain, that would give me something to focus on, to learn about and possibly treat.  Right now, I've got nothing!

hi,this seem to be some autoimmune disorder affecting bone and joints. Please consult doctor and get ANA,ESR,ANCA,RA factor etc investigations done.

Till a proper diagnosis is created you have to be on pain killers, which might continue later on along with some disease modifying drugs.

bye and take care!
