Pain in Upper legs

I have recently been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, but have been suffering with a pain in the upper part of the inside & back of my legs, (not lower part of legs) it can only be described as cold & painful to the touch, or rather I cannot bear to touch it or for anything to touch the area because it feels icy/freezing. The easiest way to describe it is if you put your hand on the ice in your chest freezer for a while it becomes painful to the touch.  It can last for several days & is reccuring more regular than it used to.  I do not want to trouble my doctor if there is no reason to because I have had to take up a lot of his time with the arthritis & asthma etc.  I look forward to hearing from you on any ideas on what this could be.  Thank you mcbeth1

Hi there & thank you for your response it is much appreciated for what is I have noticed a very busy site, One thing I can say is that thankfully I am caffeine free & have been for many years & as for alcohol I drink a few sips of dry white wine on 3 occasions per year, wedding anniversary & my husband's & my birthday's.  I was blood tested for diabetes in November of last year, fasting test, & that came up normal.  So I shall see what a neurologist says when i am able to obtain an appointment with him/her.  I shall post news here when I have been because that this helps as a guideline to others who have similar problems. Thank you again Kindest regards & to you also to take care.......

Hi,
The most  probable cause of your symptoms could be amongst the following – Herniated disk , Herpes , Caffeine , Alcohol , Myasthenia gravis , Spinal stenosis , Diabetes , Peripheral artery disease ,Peripheral neuropathy , Peripheral nerve trauma or Peripheral nerve compression . Please go for  a test to check the blood sugar levels – fasting and post lunch and an MRI spine and consult a neurologist . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
