Symptoms of Essential Tremors
Can anyone tell me if having tired arms and legs (feeling of writers cramp) and general tiredness is a symptom of Essential Tremors. I also have the occasional numb feeling in the left side of my face and pins and needle feeling in my lips. I am also finding my concentration is not as good. Anyone else feel like this?

Hello dear and welcome to the medhelp forum. Essential tremors usually are seen in hands, but may affect, feet, head and the voice also. They are worsened by emotional stress, bodily fatigue and even fluctuation in temperature. These are intention tremors or manifest when you use your hands. You will need a detailed neurological examination to check for any other associated conditions or deficits. Get a blood workup for electrolytes like sodium, potassium, calcium, and vitamin B12 and D levels since you have perioral tingling and facial numbness. If symptoms persist after deficits have been addressed you may need an MRI brain and other testing. They are medicines to control the essential tremor if it is distressing. tests and an MRI Scan before the diagnosis.
From what I have been reading there are no
definate answers to this condition and people seem
to have many symptoms that are never mentioned
so I guess I will just get on with adjusting to it.
I am a long way from needing drugs and compared to
a lot of sufferers I have nothing to complain about.
I might just keep my own notes which may be useful
to someone in the future as I can tell from reading the Internet, books etc
that this condition is still being researched.
